Our serviced apartments are found right in the heart of Hammersmith, with all the brilliant cultural attractions in easy walking distance. The Apollo, Hammersmith’s legendary performance venue, is ten minutes away, while an eclectic programme of theatre can be found at the Lyric just five minutes away. Riverside Studios used to be home to BBC Television’s iconic programmes, including Doctor Who in the 1960s; now you’ll find a premier independent cinema, theatre and restaurant on site. Amble down to Grade II* listed Hammersmith Bridge, where you’ll find trails winding along the River Thames – perfect for an afternoon stroll. It also boasts a great vantage point to view the annual Oxford and Cambridge Boat Races, as the bridge falls about halfway through the route. And with Hammersmith tube station a few moments’ walk from our serviced apartments, exploring the very best the capital has to offer is easy and efficient.
Busy King Street is lined with plenty of well-known fashion brands as well as smaller independent shops. A couple of local gems that we like include Maison Samadi for luxury handmade chocolates and charity shop Traid for vintage threads – treasure seekers will delight in discovering a unique designer piece among the preloved fashion. King Street is also where you’ll find the Livat Shopping Centre; make sure to check out Atelier100 inside, which offers homeware, clothing and jewellery designed and produced by local creatives. By the tube station, there’s also the Broadway Shopping Centre, with over 20 retail stores to explore. Further afield, it’s a short 11-minute tube to Westfield in nearby Shepherd’s Bush, where you’ll find designer fashion, high-street brands, and quirky independent boutiques – a shopper’s dream.
With the brilliant location of our serviced apartments, you have a world of cuisines in short walking distance. Excellent coffee, tempting pastries and healthy dishes are just five minutes away at family-friendly Daily Shot. Colourful bakery Patisserie Sainte Anne is a wonderful little spot for homemade breads and pastries, cakes, macarons and chocolates – it’s like a little bit of Paris in the heart of Hammersmith! Pop over to Lyric Square where you’ll find the Hammersmith Food Market on Thursdays and the World Food Market on Fridays. It’s a true melting pot of cuisines, with Filipino, Caribbean, Moroccan and Ghanaian hot food stalls, plus fresh produce. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. At Patri you can enjoy Indian street food dishes that founder Puneet Wadhwani once ate as a child growing up near New Delhi train station. Often-recommended Mahdi brings fine Persian cuisine to Hammersmith, or pay a visit to The Gate for plant-based dishes enjoyed al fresco in the charming secret garden. Looking to make a meal in your fully-fitted apartment kitchen? Pick up organic, fairtrade produce at Bushwacker Wholefoods.
If you like to enjoy a drink in a historic local, Hammersmith has plenty to choose from. Of course, infamous historic pub The Dove is a must – Ernest Hemingway, Graham Greene, Dylan Thomas and William Morris all visited the bar in their time. Admire the tiled exterior of The Salutation on King Street or visit Victorian pub The Hop Poles where you can enjoy a tipple on the roof terrace. After a show at the Lyric Theatre why not round off the evening with a casual drink at Brackenbury Wine Rooms? With 40 wines available by the glass, a wide terrace and plenty of seating inside too, it’s the perfect place to socialise over some top wines and tapas-style snacks – and it’s only a five-minute walk back to your apartment!
